9.9 Merc starting problems

Cant get my 9.9 merc to start consistanly? The only time it does start is when i take the cover of. She ll fire right up after that unless it sit for a hour or so and i got to go back and do the same thing again. Tried Bleed the fule hose, dont know to much on where to go from there.

Hi Ford<br />Check to see if the bonnet is shorting out some wires. Spark plug wires,kill switch etc. Then try to determine is you have an exhaust leak somewhere under the hood. If you start the motor with the hood off, will it die when reinstalled? Check to see that your tank is vented properly and your fuel line connector is in good shape. I have seen more bad running Mercs do to worn or cheep aftermarket connectors.
