I have a problem with a 9.9 mercury motor serial #OG917085. Used the motor on sat. every thing was fine then on sun. started motor and pulled boat off of the trialer and before i could pull back up to the shore it died,could not get it to restart acted like it was flooded i pulled the cover off and the only thing that was apparent was the tension spring was disconnected. The spring was still fastened to the chock knob assembly but the other end was loose where does this hook up.The ony way i could start the motor was to hold the thottle arm open by hand and crank it to start. Does this sound like the tension spring is the problem. Would appreciate any help thanks bmorrisey.
