Re: 9.9 SMOKING
Stop worrying about the smoke...and worry about the proper fuel oil mix for your engine. Most all 2 cycle smoke a little. They also tend to load up a little when first starting or idleling for a long time. This will make them smoke sometimes a little. NOT ENOUGH OIL MEANS FRIED, DEAD, SIEZED, BROKEN ENGINE. Most all containers of outboard oil tell you how much to mix. I surmise your engine is a newer engine that uses 50:1 or 16 oz. to 6 gal. of gas. Minus a 1/2 oz. at 6 gal. won't fry an engine rite away, BUT always use at least the min. recomended. A little tiny extra oil won't hurt but too much oil can make a 2 cycle engine run hot because there is less fuel and more oil thus the engine will run lean. That's why outboard manufactures recommend that you do not run WOT continuesly during break-in with double oil mix.
