well this isn't my first boat redo. two years ago I did a 87 16' bayliner after buying it only to find out it was shot. I bought this one knowing what needed to be done. I've already go most of it stripped down. working on cleanup and getting some extra bracing put into the floor. this project will be slow do to time and money. i'm not cutting any corners on this one cuz I want it to be perfect for "me" when it's done. it'll be set up as a cross over fishing/cruising boat (mostly fishing). I really want to set this up as a center console, but don't know how to run the steering cables to get that to work. any ideas on how to do that would be greatly appreciated!!!!! now onto the pic's and progress that I have got so far.

the day I picked it up

general lay out of where I want the captains chair and cc

fully cleaned out rear boxes removed. thinking of having two gas tanks made that'll fit inside the back boxes saving a lot of room inside the boat.

also the coast guard tag seems to be mia. does anyone have an idea of what size engine this boat can handle. my bayliner has and 85 on it but that seems a bit big for this boat. expecially with the weight difference between the two.

Hi and welcome to the Iboats Dry Dock, Tin Division, homebuilt...
Good looking project you got yourself...
The tin guys will be along shortly to help you out with more details, but the one question I can offer an anwer to is the routing of the control rigging to a center console boat is usually done under the deck via a PVC conduit that is large enough to allow all of the wiring and cables to run through...
Keep your pre-cut decking dry and get ready to buy some epoxy resin to coat them in...
Good Luck and Have Fun!

+1 on the conduit. My last boat had a 2.5" pvc one running from cc to outboard. Its like a chase for electical and steering.
