Anyone have any input on the hull quality of a Donzi during the OMC years? Worse, better, or the same than the other years?

I've been reading for a long time & this is my first post—lot of good info here. I'm looking at buying a Donzi (with a thorough inspection, for sure) that's a 1990 CC that is listed as a 24' (but must be a 23' according to NADA) with a 225 Ocean Pro. Price is good - 8K - but I'm curious what you guys think about their quality, especially during the years they were owned by a different company.

Thanks again. Looking forward to the responses. I should say this is my first saltwater boat, but I've been around freshwater ones most of my life. I've been looking for that magical Grady, BoWhale, etc at the right price (8K or less for my budget) and this happened to come along.

Donzi hulls have many problems. I would stay away.

After having piloted / played with a few Donzi's I would discourge a purchase of one prior to mfg. year 95. My experience was that the hull design was poor, most if not all of the Donzi's I played with manufactured between 1988 and 1995 would not plane regardless of combination of motors, attachments and tricks. Including the offshore "cigarette" style vessels. I would be willing to give them another chance after 95. Overall the craft is well made.
