Re: 90 Evinrude 8hp leaks oil?
The correct way to fill the gearcase is with the motor upright, remove both drain and level screws (broad headed, slotted, screws on the starboard side) Allow the old oil to drain. Any water or milkiness indicates water ingress and the cause, defective seals, should be investigated and rectified.
Fill the unit either using a squeezable bottle or a pump supplied for the purpose via the drain hole until oil flows from the level hole. (outboard gear oil)
Fit the screw back into the level hole, remove the bottle/pump and refit the drain screw.
NB new sealing washers should be used on the drain and level screws.
(dont know the exact capacity but round about 300 - 350 cm?)
Oil from the gearcase should not get out to any other place, it is totally sealed! and even if leaking it is inconceivable that it could get to the flywheel area
Cannot explain how you get oil leaking from the engine area. It's a two stroke so there's no oil there apart from what's in the fuel!
