hi yall,im dave and from NC and just bought my first boat yesterday at the age of 34 for $1000. its a 1990 bayliner cobra with a force 150 on back. the hull is in near prestine condition. the seats could use some help and all options work surprisingly. my problem is the motor starts and sounds beautiful, but when i have the flush ears on the bottom end with water turned on, i get no water coming from the exhaust or spitting from the 2 holes. does this water pump have to prime at all? a little backround on this beast... it has been sitting for about 2-3 years in some ones back yard, sold it to me but about 2 years ago he spent about 1500 on the motor getting it tuned and all redone. it starts right up with no problems, he told me it hasnt seen open water in years so he has no idea whats up with it, all i know is i put fresh gas in 50:1 and for a motor that hasnt started in a wile, it started like it ran yesterday,. the steering is seized up and has a very tiny spot of floor rot in the front, which i know how to take care of cus i have done it on a friends boat. my main concern is the water pump......please if some one could help out this rookie i would be so greatful ****update**** problem solved, turns out i didnt have enough pressure to feed the pump. i borred a 100 gallon tank and started it and there it was water spitting like a champ. my water pump is new. i opened the bottom end up thinking it was a bad pump. the guy who sold it to me wasnt telling a lie, all new haqrdware along with pump and gaskets.
