I have a 1990 bayliner L-drive 90hp. The engine lost power to max of 10mph. I changed the cylinderhead gasket and it worked for the first day, then problem happened again w/max of 10mph. Checked compression #1-115 #2-135 #3-135. I changed the cylinderhead gasket two times. Each time I change the cylinderhead gasket it works for one day. Don't know what is going on, if anyone have suggestions please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Re: 90 force engine only runs 10mph!!

I am not a complete engine guru (pistons, rings etc..) but have a good knowledge of other parts of the engine.

Mine did the excact same thing and I traced my problem back to the carbs. I did a de-carb with the spray can type, cleaned the intake cover and exterior of the carbs and also lubed all the linkage.

My boat topped at at 40mph yesterday, increasing my speed by 30mph. The decarb did wonders.

Just a suggestion.
