It's better to stick with your original thread so as not to confuse people. As far as the throttle cable goes, you can take off the cowl (engine cover) and the airbox, and visually watch to see if the throttle plates open all the way as you advance the throttle. <br /><br />There are about a thousand other things to check, but you can try that. You can also verify that the timer base advances to the stop as the throttle is advanced. Do these things w/motor not running.<br /><br />Buy a factory service manual or a generic from iboats if you are going to attempt things yourself. <br /><br />There is a great search function on this site. It's the red button up top. There you will find lots of reading and answers to many of your questions. <br /><br />The guys here are great, but if you have a book, things will go better.
