1990 90HP Force outboard - I posted a problem before and was suggested that I put in a new fuel pump diaphram, which I did. That seemed to help but the problem, but I have narrowed it down to this. When I take the engine out of gear and start it up it runs great but I have to put the throttle a bit forward in order to start. When I try to put it in gear or even when its out of gear and try to idle it, it stalls. If i do it quick enough it works but its real hard. Any suggestions.

Thanks, John

Carbs need to be rebuilt. Carb kits are 15 bucks at Napa. The number is 18-7307. Soak them over night in clean gasoline and then the following day clean all the small orifices with a thin wire and compressed air. Make sure you remove the idle mixture screw and spray some carb cleaner in there and compressed air. Use safety glasses so the stuff dont get in your eyes from the compressed air.

new seat, needle valve, spring for the mixture adjust screw, float gasket, float holding pin, a couple of welsh plugs, carb to motor gasket and a partridge in a pear tree.
