90 hp Johnson Impeller

I'd like to replace my impellor on my 1993 Johnson 90 hp 2 stroke. I see in the manual that you have to remove the lower unit and I was wondering how the main shaft comes out? Does it just slip out when you lower the unit? When I'm putting it back in do I just raise into place and sping the prop shaft to get it to seat properly? Thanks

you have to disconnect the shift linkage under the carb, then the lower unit, shift rod, and drive shaft drop out. remove pulls, and turn flywheel to line up splines when reinstalling.

Thanks for the info. I tried looking for a linkage but couldn't see anything. I'll give it another peek with a light. Thanks
