90 hp Johnson- warm up lever not working

I just installed a used 1985, 90hp Johnson on my boat. The warm up lever on the remote does not cause the idle to increase when engaged. Do I need new parts or a new remote. I assume the plastic parts are worn inside. I can find the parts on line but they are discontinued. Please help

Thanks for responding! That is the same site I looked at but I believe I need part 2 and 23 and they say they are "NA". Do you know of anywhere else to look? If I were to buy a new one, how would I know what to get? Again thanks.

It just might be adjusting the throttle cable on the mtr correctly.

Check the "Top Secret File" and look at some salvage yards, maybe they can help you with some parts.

I thought of that. I will try to do so tomorrow. I bought a repair manual but have trouble understanding some of the instruction. I just read in the "Top Secret File" the step by step on how to do the adjustment. Thanks for the reply.
