I just bought this boat and the motor runs great but has started slipping in forwards and reverse when you give it throttle. At idle when in gear the motor doesn't slip, but the faster I try to go the more it slips and has a clunking sound as its slipping.
Can anyone help me!

These motors dont have clutches, I do not believe anything is actually slipping. It sounds like your either not engadging into gear all the way or something is seriously broken.

I can turn the motor over with the prop. And the oil in the lower unit had some metal shavings but no large chunks.
Does anyone know where you can find some online repair guides for as 85 model 90hp Mariner motor?
