Problem: I was able to remove the old tilt and trim pump which was very dead after the advice given here. Thank you all. After the installation of the new trim pump I filled the reservoir on the port side of the transon bracket with fluid. I then had to manually lower the unit and raise it a few times. I had the bleeder screw tight all the way on the starboard side of the transom bracket.. My batt. went dead so I was raising and lowering it manually.

Where I am now: Batt. is now charged (purchased batt. charger) and I was looking forward to seeing that the tilt and trim would be functioning however it is not :( I can manually hear the tilt and trim pump coming on however there is no raising or lowering. I did ensure that I had the manual stop released so that is not currently holding the motor in the up position as I tried to work with the tilt and trim. So basically I guess Im asking how to best go about filling the fuild res. as it was completely empty. Everything was removed and cleaned throughly before assembling everything with the new tilt and trim motor.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
