Have had this motor for 2 years. No problems until mid summer last year when motor would start and then sputter out. Now determined that I can keep it running the most of the time by keeping the choke slightly out, but it still sputters and cuts out at higher and idle rpm's. Have to put it in gear quickly and accelerate to keep from shutting down. Fuel filter clean. What next?

clean your carb good and put in a rebuild kit. Cost about 20.00. Take your time and blow all the orafices out with compressed air and use a good carb cleaner. Might want to soak them overnight.

As stated, pay special attention to the jets/orifices. They are likely clogged. Soak them and blast them out thoroughally with compressed air.

Thanks for the tip. I am going to look for a Carb Kit online and give it a try.
