90 merc melting vac line...

A friend of mine has a 90 hp merc ELPTO. Last time out it fell on its face and melted the vacuum line going from the crankcase to the fuel pump. Sounds bad...where to start looking?

Sounds like it is badly overheating, or you had a fire.

Post the year. Figure out if it had a fire or just overheated.
