Personally if I wanted a 115 then I would buy one and sell the 90 !!!!

well thats the thing i dont think they are different at all and its just a different sticker on the cowl. but ive been wrong before. also i know this block was used in a wide range of horsepower's and theres a bunch of de-tuneing things done to it. im just not sure what they are.

Re: 90 to 115???

#1 115 comes with a bubble back exhaust plate system. 90 has a flat back exhaust plate.
never looked into it but there may be a differance in one /or more areas:
the connectting rod lenght. (check part #'s rod and pistons and cylinder head)
timing.
Exhuast and/or intake port size (can effect power rating)
Midsection exhuast tube size (section just below power head and just above lower unit) they are removeable.
What most people forget is that 2 strokes power gains in area's of 5 and 10 hp is alot. lastly any time you push for more, you must pay more attension to over all maintance of the engine.

Most of the engine's parts are the same on late model V4 crossflows. You will find the 115's have the large carbs and the bubble back exhaust system, which means the blocks are different between the two. The engines will pull about the same, but the 115 will make more hp at top end and should walk away from the 90. A set of older high compression heads, large carbs, the NLA intake filler blocks and some composite reeds will improve the performance of these engines.
