I have a 1987 Mercury 90hp 3cyl. 2 stroke that seems to idle good and runs great above 3000 to max rpm which is 5500, It feels down on power and takes to long to plane out. I OHM out the spark plug wires, all three wires have .2 res. should they have high res. like automotive spark plug wires? I also OHM out the coil pack's, all three have .2 across the + and - terminals, #1 coil has .957k across the plug wire tower and the + or - terminal, #2 coil has .921k and #3 coil has .971k. When I checked the OHM across the + or - terminal to the mounting bolts for the coils, #1 had 1.358k, #2 had 48.00k and was dropping, #3 had 1.922k. Is #2 coil bad? Thanks for any help, I have not purchased a manual yet.
