I bought this outboard 2 years ago, the id. tag is unreadable. I think the motor body or engine cover was previously painted , they were slightly different shades from each other. The motor has ran flawlessly. End of last season the motor started to skip as if running out of fuel. I never changed the fuel filter. For that matter I didn't change anything. My guess is that it is a 2003 by looking at the decals on the parts supply web sites. My question is : are there any markings, clues that would help me verify my motor model/year ? Also i want to change the fuel filter and plugs but afraid to order the wrong model parts and cause more damage than good. . Thanks, any clues/info would be greatly appreciated !
