I am re-building my 1983 90hp Johnson v-4 and am at the front of the motor. What I need to know is if someone knows whether or not there should be a gasket in between the carbs and the metal plate that mounts to them that is the airbox. And if anyone knows where I can get a diagram for the routing of the fuel vacuum hoses that that go to the carbs, there are 4 diaphrams that these hoses attach to and they all look the same but come from a differant part of the fuel system. Thanks in advance.

Re: 90hp Johnson manifold gasket question

There is a gasket that is required at the base of the carbs. It comes with the rebuild kit. I rebuilt one of my two today (1987 OMC V4) and will finish in the morning.

Routing of all of the fuel& vacume lines is covered in the OMC shop manual. I am lucky as I have two motors so can check one as I work on the other.

I know there is a gasket that goes in betweeen the carbs and the manifold, but I don't know if there is one that goes at the front of the carbs in between the airbox. Any thoughts??
