Hi, I'm in the process of purchasing a boat with a 90 Johnson Ocean Pro, year 2000 with very low hours.
1st.: Would like to know what is different with a Ocean Pro vs a regular?

2nd: is there any known problem with those motor?

Thank you for taking time to answer.

Re: 90HP Johnson Ocean Pro

Maybe the ocean pro is a commercial,
besides, whats a seahorse?
Don't know.

I have a v6 150 commercial, they run lower compression and turn a larger prop. Maybe thats a ocean pro?

I went with johnson because theres so many of them around after decades of use, theres also plenty of expert help here and that makes a huge difference in keeping them going. They are good engines.

With a new to you engine, get the factory manual and go through everything, don't assume anything, check lower gear oil, change oil, install new seals on drain/fill screws, test compression, ignition spark test, all engine grounds and connections starting from battery, clean and re-attach. Water pump.
