I have just bought a 1979 90HP Mercury Outboard. It ran last week when I bought it and I had it running one time this week. Now it will turn over but won't start. I removed one of the 6 plugs and checked for spark but nothing. I'm getting DC voltage to the regulator with the key in the on position. I'm not getting voltage from coil to ground. Please help this newbe.

A '79 will have six coils. The orange wire is grounded to kill the spark. You might check to see that the orange wire ungrounds when the ign switch is set to the run position.

You can troubleshoot your ADI ignition using the writeups on the CDI.com or Dolphinmarineservices.com web sites.
