90HP Yamaha lower end change

Does anyone have any idea if and 1986 lower end will work in a 1990 motor? Most parts are pretty much the same from 1984 to1991. Would like to know before wasting time trying to put it in . Thanks

8)bolt right in the only differance is just one filler plug instead of 2 on 1990
