91 60 Hp Troublshooting low compression

I'm not sure where to start have about 0 /100/100 when did compression test I know that something is wrong. The book told me to try putting motor oil in low , and if it rises the probabbly need a ring job. It didn't change the reading, and the book didn't say what it could be if nothing happens. I don't know enough to figure it out, but I'm trying to learn. Anything will help...Thanks

pull off the head and take a look at the cylinder walls don't sound too good you may need a rebuild
