91 70 hp Johnson SLOW

While running today engine went in to slow VRO has been removed, I pulled hood temp on engine was ok could touch head for about 10 seconds before heat was to much. I unplugged the tan and blu wire coming from the temp sensor and slow went away after returning to ramp plugged wire in and slow was still gone ????? what should I check ???

How fast were you going when it went into SLOW? Do you have a water pressure gauge?

Full throttle , no pressure gauge

Hi!<br /><br />Does the engine go into S.L.O.W (2500rpm) after running the engine for a while? Is the alarm beeping? <br /><br />Do you think that the impeller is faulty? Or what about the thermostat?<br /><br />A few questions in order to clear up the engine problem. <br /><br />I'm on my way to check our 60Hp -89 Johnson that was running bad today. Loosed all power and then idled at 500 rpm. Hopefully only a temporary bad running (hot wheather).<br /><br /> <br /> <br />Robbi
