Hi guys, To start off with, the thoughts and prayers of the Australian people are with you in this difficult time. It is a WORLD tragedy- not just an American one.

Recently my outboard became stuck in reverse gear, while out on the water. It had stalled after i hit a mudbank reversing. I had to really pull to get it into neutral so I could start it again. Now when reverse gear is selected it does not turn the prop. What did I break? Will the motor be safe running in forward gear? Will anything be floating around the gear box waiting to be chewed up? I would appreciate the help since my dad is paranoid about it breaking and won't let me get out on the water. Plus I don't fancy a long row back to the boat ramp.
