I'm trying to get ready for the holiday weekend and my 150 turns over but will not fire. I noticed it started to smoke a little more than usual towards the end of last season and I didn't take the best care of it over the winter. Anyway, I suspected the fuel so I tried fresh fuel through external with same outcome. I rebuilt all of the carbs. Still not starting. Cleaned all of my plugs. Still nothing. I sprayed starter fluid through the carbs and it will fire so i'm still thinking it's a fuel issue. I checked my compression and all 6 cylinders are between 90 and 95 so I'm happy with that. What would be the next step? My manuals testing procedures all call for "running" tests. That's hard to do when it won't start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post and I'm hoping for the best.

are you sure the carbs were properly rebuild? the floats could be stuck.... are you doing the right cold start procedure?

since you just rebuild the carbs make sure that the carbs are synchronized and they are closed.... do you have a starting solenoid ? does it click when you try to start the motor?

I was able to R&R the carbs without disconnecting any of the TB linkages so there was no adjustment needed. I'm pretty sure I did a good job on the carbs, making sure the float operated and the needle seated properly in the valve body. I had to reaeal a couple of bowls but other than that no leaks on the carbs.

I have discovered my fuel filter washer is cracked so I'm waited for one to be delivered. I think there may be air leaking in through the crack.

Motor will not run. If I pump the bulb, it will start, but then die of fuel starvation. If I try to open the throttles when it is breifly running, it just chokes out. The hoses from the fuel pump pulsate fuel consistently so I think the pump is OK. So the fuel is getting to the throttle bodies. I don't see any leaks and the solenoid is clicking.
