91 PCM stalls out

I have a 1991 Sunliner 19' runabout with a 5.0 PCM engine with a Velvet Drive transmission. Last weekend the boat shut off at 3/4 throttle going across the lake as though the key had been turned off. Put the boat in neutral and it started. Tried reverse and it worked. Put it in drive and got up close to full throttle and it did it again. A friend suggested a neutral safety switch. Does this sound possible? Where would I find it on this boat? Any help would be huge. Thank you.

Re: 91 PCM stalls out

Neutral safety switches only prevent an engine from cranking;once it starts, it cannot kill the engine. Start the engine, take a jumper wire from the + terminal on coil to + on battery and go for a spin. If it stays running, then you know you have a electrical problem.
