I ordered a new voltage regulator from CDI Electronics. The 2 wires that connect to the stator are solid yellow. Wires coming from the stator are 1 solid yellow and 1 yellow with gray stripe. Does it matter which yellow wire connects to the stator wire with the gray stripe?

No. In the Johnny/Rude colors, gray is the tach lead.

On my old regulator I have a yellow wire with a gray stripe going to the stator yellow wire with gray stripe. The new regulator doesn't have a yellow with a gray stripe, only 2 solid yellow. So you're saying I can I can connect either of these yellow wires to the stator yellow wire with gray stripe?

Either or is correct. They're both the same

Thanks Walker. Just wanted to make sure so I don't fry something.
