'92 40 HP Evinrude Water and Exhaust

I went to the lake for the first time this year and when I finally got my motor started I noticed that there was an excessive amount of water coming out of the exhaust port. Is this normal? <br />There is plenty of water coming out of the pee line.

May have a t/stat assy hung open.I recommend inspecting or replacing the assy.Did the engine run normal otherwise?

I didn't even take it off the trailer, when I saw that I turned off the motor and went home. It will not idle very well anyway in neutral, even after it warms up
