the oil injection unit is leaking oil out the carb,can this unit be repaired or
should i remove the unit and use premixed fuel

The VRO/OMS fuel pump (what you're calling the oil injection unit?) actually mixes the oil into the gasoline at the fuel pump and then sends it to the carbs. So by the time it gets to the carb, it is just like the premix. Therefore, based only on what I understand you to be saying, changing to premix wouldn't help that particular problem, I don't think.

I'm wondering if you're just getting some leakage of the gas/oil fuel from the carb, but it seems oily to you? Maybe there's a leaky carb gasket, fuel line, stuck float? In other words, a carb. issue, not a fuel pump issue.

Is this a new thing? How much? Are there any other problems - low oil usage, high oil usage, alarms, poor running, etc?

oil usage is high.approx 1 quart to 5 gallons,engine smokes a lot
