92 OMC Cobra 5.0 overheating

I have a 92 OMC cobra 5.o it is over heating, I have already changed the impellar and the thermostat. I have checked the raisers and manifolds(they are in good shape), It seems IM not getting enough water to the engine from the outdrive. Any advise or suggestions.

Was the impeller in one piece when you changed it? Is it possible the splines came off and are now blocking ports in the water jacket?

yes it was in pretty bad shape when I changed it, Last night I read tons of posts on here and tried what most of them said. I ran the boat with muffs for boat 30 min. and it stayed at round 170, So I hope I fixed the problem. trust me if it starts acting up again I will be back on here. Thanks for takeing your time to reply to my question
