Hello everyone, i have a few questions about my 92 Yamaha 200hp TXRQ outboard. Im a newbie to 2 stroke outboards.
My problem is: After running 10-15 mins UNDER LOAD, if i decell to 1600-1100 rpms, i notice what seems to be a missfire, and running on 5? clys.
I have replace spark plugs,Rebuild the Carbs, replace water seperator, replace fuel pumps.
** the carbs were like new, as the original owner had them done last year but i still went through them. The Solec manual has a few adjustments for the neelde valves,a depends on wich 200 it is, how do i tell wich 200 i have,** it states on 1 model the port and star board will have different settings, and why ? and what are the engine variations?
** the spark plugs had a wierd issue. The port side was "wetter" than the starboard side....Could this be from the carbs not being properly adjusted originaly? and if not what could cause one side run richer or leaner? I could under stand if it were a carb it would be either the top middle or bottom 2 plugs with a difference or a fuel delivery issue all the plugs would be out of normal. I can only come up with a t-stat possiblity but a temp gun reads only 5deg differance between port and starboard .
The Solec Manual is Very Vauge on operation, and i would rater learn about the system operation before going at this blind, is there a factor manual available that has just the 200hp model instead of the 2-300hp 2 & 4 stroke engines. (it just seems to jump around alot)
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: 92 yammy 200txrq RLS!

200 TXEQ is a run of the mill 200 with 3 pulser coils to trigger 6 ign coils and a high and low speed stator charge coil to power the ign system operating voltage.
the reason for the various settings is the carbs are jetted differently on the port and stbd banks.
make sure the correct jets are in the correct spots.
have you checked the fuel pump diaphrams for leakage?

hey Rodbolt, thanks for the reply...
i have replace the fuel pumps, as i have read about them leaking internaly and they looked somewhat older.
How do i tell which jets should be in there?, the solec manual stated nothing about the different ones anywhere..but does state under "carb set up spec" **initial Pilot screw sped settings (1 - 1 1\2), then under a side note, it states "specifications are for port side of most 200/L200 motors, the starboard side of these should be set to 1/2-1, however the spec for p200/prov200 is 1 1\8 - 1 5\8 for both sides.

How do i know wich motor i have? 200?L200?p200? or Prov200?
Thaks once again for your help

by the prefix to the model number, it will be an alpha character if no prefix is before the 200 its a standard 200.
