I just got a 93 9.9 with 15 carb and after hooking it all up today I can't get it to pump water. I took the tell tale hose off and blew through it and it seems clear. I ran the motor for about 2 mins and put suction on the tubing but couldn't get much water through. How difficult is it to remove the lower unit to check the impeller? The guy I bought it from said it was pumping good about a month ago(typical answer) and it was pumping so hard it would put a hole in the dirt. HELP!!!!!

Also when I start the motor, there is a buzzer going off and won't shut off. Sometimes it will and sometimes it wont. I originally had a 40 on this boat and used those controls, could that be the problem?

The buzzer is probably an overheat alarm. It doesn't take long for it to get hot enough to set it off. It's easy to drop the lower, six bolts and then the one bolt for the shift linkage. Drop the lower and the plastic water pump housing is right there on top. If you ran your motor without water it may have trashed the impeller. It's an easy and cheap fix.
