93 evenrude 15 HP exceleration

Starts to bog down or (flat spot) at half throttle. Can't get it to run wide open. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your high speed circuit in your carb. is dirty. Pull the carb. and give a very thorough cleaning. Follow with a good blast of air in every orifice from both directions. Best of luck. Rick.

Thanks Rick. Are there any tricks removing the rewind and carburator that I wouldn't find in a repair manual, if I had one?

There are only 3 bolts that hold the rewind starter unit on. But there is a neutral safety interlock wire that needs to be disconnected. The top of this wire has a short Ell tucked into the starter housing. If you move the wire as far as possible to the rear of it's slot, it will come out of the housing (possibly by also applying some pressure).

After you remove the breather, the carb is pretty accessable.
