Hi, I have two 75HP Mercury Outboards, I believe that they are 1993's. I put the transom of the boat underwater and flooded the carbs on both engines. I have rebuilt all the carbs and fuel pumps. Now when I put the engines in gear they die fast. If I pull the timing rod towards me they will stay going while in gear. I don't know what is wrong, but my thoughts are something to do with the electrical system. Any thought would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sounds like the motors are starving for fuel. When you rebuilt the carbs did you set the float levels? When you reassembled the engine did you do a link & synch & then adjust the idle screws? You really need a manual to do this there is a link at the bottom of the page.Good luck
