having problem w/charging system on my 93 merc 115. bought clymer repair manual and it says i have an 18 amp charging system. while performing tests, the manual shows that i should have a separate rectifier w/3 posts on it. could not find one. when i looked at the wiring diagram, it shows a combined rectifier/voltage regulator.the instructions for performing tests on the 40 amp system shows a rectifier/regulator in one piece.should i use the instructions for the 40 amp system to test?am i looking at the wrong part?any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
