Sender is bad on my 93 OMC Cobra 4.3L. Of course, I can live without knowing the engine position. But, my wife and son who also drive the boat are not very experienced and could really use a working trim gauge until they learn how to "feel" it. I know these things wear out and I probably got a lot more life out of this one than average.
Problem is I can't find the sensor anywhere. I've already tried ordering one from Doug Russell and from Crowley Marine (part #0983939), only to have both reply that they don't have it in stock and won't be getting it in stock.
Does anyone know either
1) where I can get a new (or used working) trim sender 0983939?
2) is there another sender - perhaps from a later model OMC engine that will work (I have the arm, etc., still in good shape and could reuse) and if so what is the part number?
3) or lasty (and probably least favorite), is there a way to repair the actual sender myself somehow?
