OK Newbie question. I'm looking at a Seaswirl in great shape with a Johnson 115 OB. Here are some shots:

What do you guys think? Is it worth over $5k? It has a ski pole, mooring covers, and it's been gone through by the marina that's selling it. New battery, gas tested. Motor tuned and lubed. Trailer needs rollers.

I was looking at an 02 Bayliner 1950 with the 3.0 IO in perfect cond for the same price but I think I really want an outboard for my first boat. I'll use it 50/50 fresh and salt water on RI coast.

Appreciate any thoughts.

In my opinion that boat looks to be in very good condition and well maintained. Nice galvanized trailer as well. It would be worth $4-5k to me. Dealer prices are usually higher than private sellers but maybe you could get at least a short warranty thrown in.

Also, I would prefer it to the I/O Bayliner. A 3.0 is underpowered for a 19-20' boat.

Thanks EZ, I was thinking of offering $4500 then I can get all the little stuff taken care of within my 5k budget. New steering wheel, maybe some gauges and a cable boot etc...
