Hello, I recently bought a 9.5hp evinrude with the model number being 9322B. I am looking for an oil mixture and the guy I bought it from said 50:1 but also mentioned that it’s a little to rich and causing the motor to produce a little more smoke than usual. Thanks for all you help!

50/1 is the usual mix. some oils smoke more than others .
stick with high quality stuff or synthetics.

it may be running a bit rich...

smoke is good

I think the thermostat may influence it also if stuck open

remove and test it in hot 140-150F water to see if it operates properly

Smoke is the nature of a 2 stroke engine.-----But many folks are confused by the topic of oil / smoke / lubrication.

I rarely noticed any smoke running a 50:1 or 24:1 mix. I usually wanted smoke, to help keep the Mosquitos away
