Is there any problem with having the coils facing forward? Must have failed to check this when I rebuilt. Forward meaning connectors towards top of the head. Is heat the main concern here? When reffering to cracked insulation on a coil are they reffering to the rubbery bottom insulation or the plastic shell?

skeeter its usually the shell , but if they arent misfireing at night
and have good spark just run them i had mine on backwards for awhile
but they may catch on your latches

If you don't think there is an issue with heat I'll keep em the way they are. Much easier to access connections. My boat is an inboard motor setup on a jet so there are no latches I need to worry about. Juest hard to see what I'm doing around the back of the motor. Thanks for the heads up on the coils
