Ihave a 94 model evinrude v6 200hp pushing a 23 ft runabout. It has aprox 35 hrs since a total rebuild ,new pistons, rings ,bearings ,vro pump ,power pack etc,. Was running fine until recently when it started to misfire and not reach wot at 6000rpm as previous.I replaced plugs with new champions then went for a 25 mile run ,it went fine for the trip over.plenty of power and reached 6000rpm quickly .We anchored up and spent about 4hrs ashore .On the return trip from engine start it was quite sluggish pulling out of the hole, once on the plane it was ok but not able to reach wot @ 6000rpm and occasionaly misfiring ,but if we hit a good wave or a good bump this momenttarily gave us full power again. I then changed the starboard side high tension leads and boots, went for another run but still poor performance, hasn,t got all the power it should have but still surges momentarily when stern recieves a good jolt.seems to me like one pot is not firing,or could it be the stator as this is about the only thing that was not replaced.

Hi Chris...I think ya' got something floating around in one of the carb bowls. Might be a good idea also to run a compression test and do a check on spark. Did you have the carbs overhauled when the engine was rebuilt?

Keep us posted.
