Cleaned carbs replaced float needles and fuel lines ran OK. Found out I needed to make sure carbs were re-synced and fully closing after re installing carbs, did that. Re adjusted Idle jets.Starts fine and if throttle is opened quickly it runs like a raped ape. But if I gradually ramp up the throttle it stalls a about 1/4 to 1/3 throttle in forward. Although I can go up slowly in reverse with no issues.Fuel pump was rebuilt, complete water pump replacement including pump base-it was leaking gear lube into the cooling water. Not a big fan of pump base design.

are your 3 fuel mixture screws set to about 1 turn out from lightly seated ? If you change this you will need to adjust you idle up or down - idle should be about 700-800 once in gear....approx 1000-1100 in neutral.

Follow Mitzysman suggestion of making sure your idle mixture screws are set properly. The fact, it doesn't stall when going in reverse (lesser load than fwd) indicates with additional load in forward you need to increase the idle mixture screw settings, unless they are already properly set but the idle setting is too low.
