Just bought new plugs, battery and trying to get running this summer. Is there an easy way to drain the old gas out of the boat instead of using a siphon?? my buddy said there may be a drain plug that I don't know about.

Also I bought an adapter which I do not know if i can run the motor on from the waterhose or not...the motor is the mercury 90 sport jet. All the adapter does is connect into a piece I unscrewed off the water pump that is in the floor going to the bottom of the boat and has a hose connection at the end of it. Can I run the boat off of this.

Last question, what would you guys do just put new fuel and mixture in it and try to fire it up? A buddy of mine told me that I should not run fuel with ethanol in it.

Thanks for the help!!!

Scratch my second question about having the correct adapter to run the boat on the water hose, I do have the dealer ship adapter. Any help on the other two questions though?

Thanks,
Blake

no easy way to drain fuel , Yes you can run the boat off the adapter but only use enough hose pressure to flow about 1 inch out of the hose if you are holding it straight up , full hose pressure will be more than the gaskets can handle and you will have a motor full of water . Fuel mix is 50 : 1 , drain the tank put 5 gal of freash fuel in and fire it up , stabil ethanol treatment will get you around the fuel problem of using gas station gas .. use as directed .

I appreciate the reply....had the boat out on Saturday and ran great. I ended up being able to siphon all the gas by just using a hose then attaching a old "hydrolic jack fuel" bottle squeezing the bottle and that was enough suction to get the old gas all out. I have been flushing it on the hose, I just turn the water on a little bit then when he motors starts crank the hose up a little bit to where I see some coming out.

I have been running 12 gallons of fuel with 2 16 oz bottle of oil....
