94 Evinrude - extra wires

I recently purchased a 1994 Evinrude 20 HP which does not come with electric start. There were to wires that come out of the front of the motor, which are bound and about 2 feet long. I put a meter on them when the motor was running and got a small charge being produced. Is it safe to assume this motor has a small alternator built into it? I have only seen alternators in the past on motors that have electric start. Thanks!

It is an AC lighting stator, different part number then same engine with charging system. Trace the wires back to engine, may find 3 wires if voltage not over 30 volts AC between the 3 wires, you might be able to connect a 4 wire rectifier and have low amp DC.
