94 Four Winns 5.0 How important is the ps cooler

hi everyone i have a 94 four winns 5.0 omc/volvo venture engine. I took it in to the boat shop to check why its over heating and it seems they said i have al old impellor stuck inside my ps cooler. Now i was planing on going to the lake tomorrow. If i bypass it can it hurt something till i get it fixed next week?

Ayuh,.... It can over-heat the pump, 'n actuator,....

Donno if it'll be fatal or not,... it's Yer gamble,....

Not sure how the vanes from the impeller got into the cooler.
The pump is on the front of the engine and I don't believe the cooler is after the pump??
Maybe post some pics?
I think the pump feeds right into the thermo housing.
The cooler is in the line from the back and it's a flow through, no pressure feeding from the pump.
Saying that, if I'm correct? The people you had working on the motor have their head up their butt.
I've been wrong before but take a look at where the pump and the cooler is?
