First let me just say thank you for the help I have received on this forum. I am a mechanical idiot and I really appreciate the time and help.
I ran my boat today got about a mile from shore and felt like the motor was losing power. Still is was running full out. But it was getting more and more sluggish. I finally stop at 1.75 miles and I hear a very loud hiss and a huge billow of white smoke. I was was in a tight spot getting slapped buy 1.5 rollers at 3 seconds (in a 15' Duracraft) so I had to start it up and inch back to shore. Motor ran very very rough, with no power (pushed at 4.5MHP), rumbling like crazy till I got into a safer zone. Shut off the motor. Tried to troll in the rest of the way, no go. Started the motor back up. Ran like a top, plained out and hit my average 24MPH back to the truck.
After inspecting on dry land I saw excessive liquid coming from the upper spark plug. Oil more than water, was not milky but I can only assume there was water in the mix. The leaking only trickled down about 2-3 inches, stopping just above the lower plug, so it was not pouring out. I assume that is where my hissing and billow of white smoke came from? Also noticed my pee line was leaking alot at the fitting so I screwed it back in.
Got back to the house and ran the muffs on it. No leak from the pee line, but I got more excessive moisture at the plug. However not signs of smoke.
Did I blow up the motor? Is it some sort of gasket leak. I haven't dug through my manual yet. But I know ya'll can steer me in the best direction.
Thanks in advance,
-Preston
