`94 johnson problems

I bought a `94 johnson 50 hp, and rebuilt the carbs. The problem is that after it starts it lacks power form 1/4 throttle up to wide open. It runs this way for about 30 min. then clears up and runs perfect for the rest of the day. Already changed the plugs, all new fuel. I`m about to pull the rest of my hair out,can`t figure this one out. First time boater please help! jd

with motor off, what the timing plate under the flywheel, have some on else shift motor to forward, turn prop while shifting, watch and make sure the timing plate is moving completely to advance. also watch throttle linkage, to make sure it is moving both carbs completely. they could be hanging up and not advancing. also did you remove the high speed jets and make sure the are not blocked? i have the same motor.

I`ll try to do that tomarrow,have to leave for work now. This thing (motor problem) is driving me (the rest of the way) insane.
