I looking at a 1995 19' bluewater walleye style boat with a 94 merc 150 xr6 which is carburated.
Qwner guesses about 400 hours. Just wondering if these motors are ok or if they should be avoided. I'm not too familar with them. I know the efi's and the optis get better gph but ofcourse they cost more. Thx for any input

Excellent motors. Easy to work on and more solid built than the others you mentioned. Check compression and for water in lower unit before you buy.

Never buy a boat before you run her on the water! It may run good on land and be dead in the water!! I've made that mistake before. Good luck, sounds like it could be a good deal if shes sound!
Cu

----------------------
RUNNING THE MOTOR WHILE LISTENING TO THE HORN WILL MAKE YOU MORN!!

If it's got good compression, spark, lower unit, I'd buy it!
