'94 Mercury 175 XRi

I am interested in buying a boat with this motor (1994 Mercury 175 XRi) fuel injected. Can someone please give me some advise on the reputation of this motor? It looks to be in excellent shape and cared for, but it's 10 years old and who knows what it has been through. Thanks much.

I think looks matter. If it looks like it's been taken care of, it probably has been. Do all the regular stuff, check compression, check lower unit for water, ask to see service records, etc.<br />Ten years is not old for an outboard. <br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
